Mount Cutters  

Mount cutters are for cutting strips of mounts to the desired width to hold a specific stamp, allowing a "perfect" fit for each stamp.

Perforation Gauges  

Perforation gauges are used to measure the traditional perforations on a stamp and are now being used to measure peaks and valleys on die-cut stamps as well. Perforation measurments are shown as the number of perfs in 2 cm.


CWS Perforation Gauge
Heavy card paper, measures perfs from 7 to 18, with 1/2 measures between 9 and 18. It also has a measurement ruler at the top in centimeters and in inches at the bottom. On the back is a large black square to use as an aid to detect watermarks in the stamp. Simply lay the stamp facedown on the black square and a watermark will be more visible than it would be on a lighter background.

Lighthouse Perforation Gauge
Not clear plastic, measures perfs from 7 to 16 1/2 where you lay the stamp on the gauge and from 10 to 14 1/2 on the otherside where the gauge is right up to the edge of the plastic allowing you to put it on top of the stamp to be measured. Linn's Multi-Gauge Perforation Gauge
Clear plastic, measures perfs from 8 to 16 continously. It has a ruler on each side of the guage to measure in centimeters and inches. At the bottom of the gauge is a cancellation guage. The cancellation gauge is an aid in measuring the diameter of a cancellation. Ultra-Violet Lamps
