British. Became a British colony on 30
September 1885 until it was annexed to Cape Colony on 16 November 1895.
In 1885-6 mail was carried by
runner or border police. PAs were opened at Banks Drift, Kuruman, Poedomoe,
Setlagloi (1886), Palachwe (1888), Macloustie (1890), Vryburg Station and
Keimoes (1891).
Used stamps of Cape of Good Hope
from 16 November 1895 (while British Bechuanaland stamps continued in use in
Bechuanaland Protectorate). |
